Youth-Organized LGBTQ+ Art Party

On Saturday, April 20th from 1:00 PM- 3:00 PM, LGBTQ+ youth and other community members gathered at the Redux for a community art party with the purpose of creating art for We Are Family’s new space. This event was organized by Ashley Hall senior Paige Champlin (she/her and they/them pronouns) as a portion of their senior project entitled, "Icons and Iconography: Where LGBTQ+ Theory, Art, and Activism Intersect." For her project, Paige has studied Queer and Trans theory as well as the work of many LGBTQ+ artists in order to better understand the influence of queer and trans art on the history of the community. Paige has been attending We Are Family programs and events for three years and was excited to present their own event sponsored by We Are Family.
